Adrianne Ramsey is an independent arts curator and writer based in the San Francisco Bay Area. She is currently curating the upcoming group exhibition “I AM…” (2021), for Root Division in San Francisco. The show questions and challenges established definitions and historical narratives in regards to personal identity through contemporary art and features an accompanying catalogue. She is the editor of numerous publications, GIRLS Magazine (2017–present), SPINE (2020), and the forthcoming A Fantastic Sight (2021). She has previously held positions at the Exploratorium, California African-American Museum, Contemporary Jewish Museum, and YBCA, and was a 2019–20 Emerging Arts Professionals Fellow (SF/BA). She holds a BA in Art History from the University of Southern California and her current research interests include Experimental Photography and Performance Art (1960–present), Relational Art/Social Practice (1990–present), Institutional Critique, and African-American Art History.
