Cece Carpio created four new portraits for Come to Your Census: Who Counts in America? The Actual Enumeration series depict figures from various communities who are not currently represented in the 2020 Census. Their presence serves as an acknowledgment that these people and their communities have greatly contributed to the United States, despite their absence from the Census categories.
Carpio’s works give light to those whom the Census does not count and asks, how are those who are not counted remembered?
