2020 YBCA 100 Honoree
Amy Kisch, social impact strategist and curator, is the founder of Art+Action, Collect For Change™, and AKArt Advisory. Her work, which includes movement making, public campaigns and exhibitions, uniquely leverages art’s capacity to inspire people to action, deepen public discussions around collective responsibility, and serve as a vehicle to civic agency. In 2020, Art+Action launched Come To Your Census, an arts-driven national multilingual public media and programming campaign, which was awarded an unsolicited Ford Foundation grant. Harnessing the power of over 250 artists, curators, creative collaborators, and coalition partners, they mobilized communities nationwide to participate in the 2020 Census in order to claim their fair share of resources and political power. Combining her experience in contemporary art and her Masters in Social Work, Kisch is committed to democratizing access within the arts, while upholding integrity and rigor in curatorial vision, programming, and collaborations.
