The People’s Conservatory

The People’s Conservatory (TPC) is an Oakland-based non-profit organization that fosters high-level arts creation, study, and performance in an effort to promote cultural awareness and positive social change. They help young artists reveal themselves by facilitating experiences that focus on their growth and expansion. TPC has a dedicated focus on youth and families from marginalized and economically blighted communities in the East Bay—to envision and create a humane and just world through their art. Their faculty of artistic professionals help young people find their creative voices, reimagine their communities’ most pressing social challenges, and transform consumers into culture keepers and producers. Students in the conservatory develop a lifelong commitment to learning—as they are given the tools and agency to become the new leaders of tomorrow.
