Shayla Avery

Shayla Avery is a senior in high school this school year. Born and raised in Berkeley, California, she hopes to travel throughout the world. Shayla is passionate about making people feel heard and that they have a voice. One thing she wants for herself is to be able to live her life without regrets. Shayla is a strong believer of “everything happens for a reason” and lives by that motto. She is the co-founder “Youth Protect The Bay”, which is primarily a young women of color organization, focused on uniting the Bay Area by fighting various oppressions. Shayla hopes to continue to advocate for young voices everywhere.
