Ramon Ramirez

Ramon Ramirez AKA MamaDora (his drag persona) has worked in prevention and education in the healthcare and HIV field for over 20 years in San Francisco and Los Angeles. He has both worked and volunteered for agencies such as AIDS Project Los Angeles, L.A. SHANTI, AIDS Service Center, AIDS Healthcare Foundation, and now Kaiser Permanente. He has participated in events including The AIDS Danceathon, the AIDS Marathon, and was crowned in 2009 at the Mr. and Miss Gay Safe Latino and in 2019 at the San Francisco Carnaval. He has also engaged in community events as an event promoter, MC, entertainer, and host for fundraisers. He/she is an activist, educator, entertainer, comedian, burner, family member, and ran her own show at El Rio until the COVID-19 pandemic. He/she performs with a message, love and health.
