2020 YBCA 100 Honoree

Prubechu opened in 2014 by partners Chef Shawn Naputi and Shawn Camacho. Both are native Chamorros from the island of Guam. Their mission is to put their Chamorro culture on a pedestal for all to see through cuisine and hospitality. To spread the Hafa Adai Spirit of the Chamorro people to the world.

Prubechu serves classic flavors from Guam and the Marianas Islands using the finest ingredients from California’s farmer’s markets and adding a modern twist to traditional dishes. Chef Shawn interprets the classics by drawing inspiration from what is available seasonally while maintaining the integrity and soul of Chamorro flavors and traditions.
