Jessica Bejarano

Music director, conductor, and educator

Jessica Bejarano is the Founder and Music Director of the San Francisco Philharmonic, Assistant Conductor of Opera Parallele and serves as board member of the Association of California Symphony Orchestras (ACSO). In 2019, Bejarano was featured on NBC’s The Today Show with Natalie Morales, titled the “Woman Breaking Barriers as a Trailblazing Symphony Conductor.” PBS NewsHour Weekend featured Bejarano as an emerging female conductor, KQED named her one of 10 artists to watch in KQED Arts’ Bay Brilliant Top 10 Artists of 2018, and she was featured on ABC’s hit show To Tell the Truth. The Lil’ Libros book company will publish Bejarano’s first bilingual children’s book Winter 2024.

In 2019, Bejarano was the first woman in history to guest conduct the American Youth Symphony in Los Angeles. Bejarano has guest conducted in Russia, Italy, Romania, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Spain, Venezuela and throughout the United States. She has also held many conducting positions with various Bay Area orchestras, choirs, universities, and youth orchestras. She has held motivational speaker engagements for numerous companies, schools, and arts organizations.
Bejarano received her Master of Arts in Choral and Orchestral Conducting from the University of California Davis, her Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the University of Wyoming, and her Associates of Fine Arts in Music Education from Casper College.
