Join YBCA Creative Corps for a panel discussion featuring Eric McDonnell, Chair of the African American Reparations Advisory Committee in San Francisco, as we premiere Too Much Like Right Now. Directed by Autrianna Ward and co-produced by Allen Kwabena Frimpong and Malik Seneferu, this short film offers a powerful and evocative visual collage that blends archival footage, family interviews, and narration to illuminate the movement for reparations in San Francisco. Through personal and historical narratives, the film highlights figures such as Elouise Westbrook and Ruth Williams, revealing the multigenerational impact of systemic injustices on Black families in the city. It also underscores the pivotal role of Black women in both the civil rights and reparations movements, as well as in the broader history and culture of San Francisco’s Black community.
