Step inside Diedrick Brackens: gather tender night and experience the exhibition come alive through the power of the spoken word. Join celebrated poet Phillip B. Williams for an intimate poetry reading among Brackens’ luminous woven works — a space where language and textile share a common devotion to memory, desire, and storytelling.
Williams will be reading from his book Mutiny, a collection of poetry about revolt and renewal. Copies of Mutiny will be available for purchase and signing by Williams.
Following the reading, YBCA Senior Curator Essence Harden will sit down with Williams for a conversation exploring the resonances between his poetry and Brackens’ practice. The evening closes with an open Q&A, inviting the audience into the dialogue.
Encounter art, poetry, and critical conversation in one generative space.
