YBCA is excited to host Kristin Damrow & Company’s Open Rehearsal of their latest work Acclimate. We invite you to take an inside look into the company’s creative process and to witness the collaboration between Damrow, her company of six dancers, and composer Aaron M. Gold who are bringing this world premiere to YBCA’s Forum, April 23-25, 2020.

Acclimate is the fourth evening-length work by choreographer Kristin Damrow, whose most recent award-nominated dance, Impact, drew inspiration from the Brutalist movement in architecture. For her next project, Damrow explores the nexus between design principles in dance and solutions to the climate crisis.

“The purpose of design is to solve problems,” says Damrow. “Similarly, I approach choreography as a way of solving problems. Acclimate simulates a series of stark environmental shifts which challenge the dancers to respond.”
