Joan Tarika Lewis is a creative artist, jazz violinist, the first female to join the Black Panther Party, descendant of California Pioneers, and serious genealogist. Driven to solve the mystery of her heritage and family history led to discovering a treasure trove of the San Francisco Bay Area’s Anti-Slavery Movement.
