tamara suarez porras (they/she) is an artist, writer, and educator from south Brooklyn, NY and is based in the Bay Area, CA. porras’ work examines experiences of knowing, remembering, and forgetting, and how photography attempts to know the unknowable. porras has exhibited nationally, including at the Brooklyn Museum, School at the ICP, En Foco Touring Gallery, and Deitch Projects in New York City, as well as fusedspace, Root Division, The Growlery, and Embark Gallery in San Francisco, CA. porras is currently a lecturer in photography at Stanford University, and a graduate of NYU Tisch School of the Arts and California College of the Arts.
