Johnny is a second generation Vietnamese American multidisciplinary dance artist, aspiring actor based in Yelamu (aka San Francisco). His practice is centered on the body, recognizing its power as a place of knowing, site of resistance, gateway to healing, and crucible of imagination. His past work with Bindlestiff includes Chasing Papeles (2018) as choreographer and ensemble. He recently premiered his debut full-length solo dance theatre work, Minority Without A Model, at the 24th Annual United States of America Festival in San Francisco. He is a 2020 recipient of the SFAC IAC and also dances with Lenora Lee Dance Company and Kularts. Firmly believing in the power of art to heal and strengthen community especially in trying times, Johnny is grateful to with the crew at Bindlestiff Studio.
