Born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden, Carolina (Carro) Czechowska is a San Francisco-based professional modern dancer. She’s a company member and collaborator of the Margaret Jenkins Dance Company. With sixteen years of experience teaching classical Pilates, Czechowska has taught at many Pilates studios, universities, and international retreats and participated in several continuing education workshops.
Since arriving in the Bay Area, she has taught at Keep it Classical, Dharma Space Pilates, Yogaworks, and Bridging Consciousness, and in 2017, she opened her boutique-style studio, Body Bottega, focusing on private sessions on all original Gratz apparatus. From 2015 to 2018, Czechowska co-founded Yoga Pilates Adventures. During the international retreats, combining the two modalities of Pilates and yoga, she and her business partner created a platform to better understand the body through transformative trips. Czechowska taught Pilates challenge classes at ODC for six years and trained the ODC’s professional dance training program in weekly Stretch and Strength classes.
After graduating from The Royal Swedish Ballet School, her initial Pilates education was at Pilates Scandinavia in 2007. Furthermore, while living on the East Coast, Czechowska attended Brooke Siler’s year-long teacher training (1000 hours) and became an apprentice and studio teacher while still in the program. Upon graduation, she became the Program Director of the teacher training program and a senior teacher at re:AB, one of New York’s top classical Pilates studios.
