Born in Kharkiv, Ukraine and raised in America, Anna Sergeeva works with language as a medium, concentrating on the intersection of word and image. She sees the human-induced climate crisis as the defining narrative of our time; the Earth does not need saving as she will always seek balance, but how many animals will vanish, how many children must die, how many viruses must rage before we rise out of this, before a new language bursts from our fingertips? The only way to heal trauma is connection and time, another way of saying love. We must heal the word to heal the world. That is the core of her dream and her work.
