Join DVT—the trio of composer Damani Rhodes, vocalist VADIA, and poet Tongo Eisen-Martin—for a live performance of their album Traveling Shoes inside the exhibition Dread Scott: The Body Politic.
Traveling Shoes explores Black life, political consciousness, community resistance, and liberation, framing physical and spiritual journeys as an invitation to find hope, beauty, and humanity amid social chaos. DVT will meld jazz, poetry, and soulful sounds that beckon the audience to tune in, listen deeply, and surrender to the experience at hand.
Music begins promptly at 7pm, with a chance to view Dread Scott: The Body Politic before and after the set. Be sure to stop by the Creativity Explored residency in YBCA’s Front Door Gallery for hands-on artmaking.
Seating limited, RSVP recommended. Bar in the lobby, through no drinks allowed in the gallery.
