Join the San Francisco Lesbian/Gay Freedom Band for the 33rd Annual Dance-Along Nutcracker® on December 8th & 9th!

This year’s show, Clara Potter and the Elder Baton, takes the audience on a magical journey to Fogwarts School for the Magically Oriented. The Dance-Along Nutcracker® is one of San Francisco’s most celebrated events, and it’s perfect for the whole family! Along with magic and mischief, this year’s show features musical numbers from Moana, Hairspray, West Side Story and more!

Each year the SFLGFB selects a theme to blend with Tchaikovsky’s classic Nutcracker Suite. The result? A fun-filled musical production brimming with wit, artistry and ingenuity. For select songs, a large flashing “Dance-Along” sign signals the audience to tug on their tutus, pour onto the dance floor, and pirouette beneath the spotlights with the cast. Tickets are affordably priced and discounts are available for students and seniors.

The Dance-Along Nutcracker® is a casual, joyful, and inviting show–no formal dress code or dance experience required! Yet more importantly, it is a celebration where truly no barriers exist, be it age, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender identity, or even talent. As a result, the Dance-Along Nutcracker® has become a holiday favorite for families, couples, and singles of ALL sexual orientations and gender identities.

Compared to ticket prices for other Nutcracker performances in town, this “Dance-Along” Nutcracker is surprisingly affordable. Student and senior discounts are also available.  Premium tickets guarantee seating in the first four rows!

SFLGFB’s goal is to deliver a powerful core message of equality, diversity and inclusion. The Dance-Along Nutcracker® embodies SFLGFB’s belief that the joy and magic of music and dance removes differences and dissolves barriers. It strengthens unity, cooperation, celebration, and it’s hysterically FUN!

About the San Francisco Lesbian/Gay Freedom Band

The San Francisco Lesbian/Gay Freedom Band (SFLGFB) is the first openly gay musical organization in the world, inspiring the formation of LGBT+ bands, choruses, and performing groups around the globe.

This is a special year for the Band as they celebrate their 40th year making music. SFLGFB has performed at events big and small, including pride parades, SF Giants games, schools, museums, parks, street fairs, and rural parades. This year, they were named Organizational Grand Marshal of San Francisco’s 2018 Pride Parade. SFLGFB has celebrated their 40th Anniversary with a Gala benefiting the Band and a joint concert with the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus looking back on the founding of the two groups. They’re ending the year with a brand-new script for this year’s Dance Along Nutcracker®, Clara Potter and the Elder Baton.

The SFLGFB provides for the education and musical development of its members, promotes visibility of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities, and with its allies, fosters understanding among diverse communities through public performance.
