The Healing Project: Nico Cary & Eli Marienthal

Watch artists Nico Cary and Eli Marienthal discuss “The Prayer is in the Gathering,” the altar they created for The Healing Project. The work forms part of the installation “Tree of Life,” which calls upon both the life-giving trees in forests and the street altars built around light poles commonly found in neighborhoods across the United States. “Tree of Life” is a portal for visitors, who are invited to make offerings to the tree with words, flowers, rituals, prayers, or simply their breath.
