Your privacy is important to us at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts (YBCA). To better protect your privacy we provide this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your information is collected and used.
Please read the following carefully. If you have any questions or concerns, please send us an email at email@example.com.
Gathering and Use of Information
YBCA will never willfully disclose any personally identifiable information about our online audience to any third party without first receiving the user’s permission. We do not collect personally identifiable information from our visitors other than what is supplied to us on a voluntary basis.
Visitors to the ybca.org Web Site may voluntarily supply certain personally identifiable information in connection with (i)contest or sweepstakes registration, (ii) subscription registration for sites or services which require subscription (such as email and postal newsletters), (iii) requests for membership information and (iv) e-commerce transactions e.g. tickets and merchandise. In addition, personally identifiable information is voluntarily provided in connection with certain content submissions, community postings (i.e., forums or bulletin boards), comments and suggestions, or other user-generated content.
This site contain links to other sites whose information practices may be different than ours. Visitors should consult those other sites’ privacy notices as we have no control over information that is submitted to, or collected by, these third parties.
YBCA may use such information only for conducting the activities stated above, for internal marketing and promotional purposes, or, on occasion, when mailing lists are made available to other organizations, typically for mutual promotional purposes with other non-profit arts colleagues. We do not sell to or purchase lists from any third-party organization.
If the visitor does not want this information collected and used by us for the disclosed internal purposes, the visitor is given an opportunity to ‘opt-out.’ Our visitors need to recognize, however, that under certain circumstances, if they select to ‘opt-out’ they may not be eligible for certain activities for which the personally identifiable information is needed.
For e-commerce transactions, certain personal information is required by our Web Site, as indicated. You are welcome to purchase tickets from the YBCA Box Office without disclosing much of this information by conducting the transaction in person or by telephone. Information required for these transactions are different than that needed for online transactions, and therefore is not governed by the terms here.
From time to time, YBCA may update this privacy notice. We will notify you about material changes in the way we treat personally identifiable information by placing a notice on our site. We encourage you to periodically check back and review this policy so that you always will know what information we collect, how we use it, and to whom we disclose it. Your continued use of the ybca.org Web Site following the posting of any changes to these terms shall mean that you have accepted those changes.
Should you have other questions or concerns about these privacy policies, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org .
Third Party Terms and Conditions
Like many websites, when visiting ybca.org, your web browser may retain data in the form of “cookies,” or saved information about your session to make your experience with the website easier. Pages on our website also make use of “tracking pixels” which third-party services use to help track visitor information. Some of these cookies and pixels are generated by third-party advertiser services which help in creating targeted advertising about programs presented by YBCA. Information may include IP addresses and website activity, which are used to tailor advertising on behalf of YBCA on other websites. This is sometimes called “targeted advertising.”
Our third-party advertising partners are selected based on their responsibility to consumer data protection. If you are concerned about this usage of data for targeted advertising, you may opt-out of sharing this information with legitimate advertising networks that are associated with the Digital Advertising Alliance (DAA) or Network Advertising Initiative (NAI).
To opt-out of receiving targeted advertising for YBCA, select “AdRoll” as the service to be affected from the following databases:
We at YBCA are thankful for the support of our community and grateful for the trust you put in us, both by your participation in provocative programs that aim to navigate the issues of today and by your generous philanthropic contributions. In alignment with the Donor Bill of Rights, we believe in your right to know how we use contact information, as well as the level of security and confidentiality we uphold in our contribution and ticket processes. In addition, we believe in transparency around the work we do as an organization; to that end, our annual reports and financial statements can be found here.
About Secure Transactions via YBCA Websites
Our primary CRM (customer relationship management) database, Tessitura, is certified PCI (Payment Card Industry) compliant which certifies the safety and protection of your private transactions and credit card data. You can verify Tessitura’s PCI certification on their website. With any Internet-based transaction conducted with private user and payment information, YBCA makes use of encryption through Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) technology, which is the standard of security for e-commerce throughout the World Wide Web.
About Postal Mail and Mailing Lists
From time to time you may receive mail delivered by the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) from various Bay Area arts organizations. Many Bay Area arts organizations share patron postal information to help in outreach to new communities and audiences, and YBCA participates in this sharing of non-member information. YBCA Member and Donor phone, email and address information is always kept confidential. To remove your name from mailing lists outside of YBCA:
– If a piece of mail has your name, but is for an event or performance by another company (including those who use YBCA as a rented performance venue), you must contact that organization directly in order to be removed from their mailing list.
– If a piece of mail is promoting the “Dream House Raffle” (benefitting Yerba Buena Center for the Arts) and has your name, you may contact email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org to be removed from that mailing list.
If you receive any piece of mail addressed to “Resident” that mailing is based on information in the USPS database and is not retained in YBCA’s database. You may update your mailing preferences with the Direct Mail Association using the form found at dmachoice.org.
