Zekarias Musele Thompson (they/their) is an artist based in Oakland, CA, and Reykjavik, Iceland who is interested in humanity’s conceptual and emotional organizational structures and how we bring them into material form. Through sonic composition, photography, collaborative group practice and performance, writing, and mark-making, they intervene with entrenched historical narratives around individual and collective self-deception and embodied trauma. Thompson is an instigator of the Musele Project, a sound, image, performance, and facilitation practice that encourages deep, empathic listening. They are a co-founder of Working Name Studios, a collectively owned and organized arts institution with the mission of building institutional stability and equity for underrepresented creative practices, ideas, and people.
An Oakland-based musician, composer, improviser, and instigator, Suki O’Kane works with artists from a wide array of music, movement, expanded cinema, and public art genres. She is a student of monumental and durational forms, combining Jurassic electronics, everyday objects, and found sounds to create noisy, handheld miniatures.
Andy Cowitt is a web developer, designer, writer, and musician who plays guitar, bass, ukulele, and keyboards. He is a member of the band Special Ghosts and the ambient/experimental combo bc3o. He is also a regular contributing member to the Wig Lodge and Interroclef Lodge of the Immersion Composition Society.
Rae Diamond is a neurodivergent interdisciplinary artist, educator, and nature advocate who studies, co-creates, and meditates with human individuals and communities as well as micro and macro elements of the spacetime we call nature. They founded, directed, and composed for the Long Tone Choir from 2013-2020, wrote and architected The Cantigee Oracle (North Atlantic Books), and wrote and illustrated floating bones (First Matter Press). She is a student and teacher of Qigong, and harbors an equally deep love for both the transcendent and the absurd.
paige starling sorvillo is a choreographer and improvisational performing artist based in Oakland, California. sorvillo’s works are inspired by specific images and/or obstructions, fragments of text, and emotional/physical states, while her performative dialect is deeply influenced by her work in Japanese Butoh dance, Ruth Zaporah’s Action Theater, and western contemporary dance.
Greta Snider is an experimental filmmaker from San Francisco, CA. Her methods include alternative photographic processes, handmade cinema, found footage or creative reuse of media, stereoscopic 3D, and repurposed text. She enjoys the challenge of expanded cinema collaborations that invite audiences to creatively redraw the boundaries of filmmaking.
Derek Gedalecia, a.k.a. Headboggle, has been performing electronic keyboard-based soundscapes for several years in the Bay Area in over a hundred local performances at venues ranging from GTK to YBCA. Incorporating lowbrow with highbrow art, music, and comedy, Headboggle’s intent is to fuse together a new ecstatic improvisational performance style with a carefully crafted musical underbed. In his formative years, Gedalecia studied classical and ragtime piano from noted ragtime composer/revivalist Dr. Brian Dykstra.
