Join us for an intimate evening of performance, ceremony, food, and conversation led by BAN9 artist Arleene Correa Valencia.

In celebration of the Aztec New Year, the night will begin with a ceremony and performance of traditional Aztec dance followed by a performance from Correa Valencia of new writings. Afterward, enjoy a shared meal from El Huarache Loco, which brings the colors and flavors of Mexico City to San Francisco, alongside music, conversation, and reflections.

Soy Yo/It’s Me is part of an evolving suite of works that consider the ways immigrant families strive to integrate into a new culture, while also retaining their own identity and customs. Correa Valencia will share deeply personal writing and performance that explore this duality—and welcome audiences to participate in moments of collective joy and reflection.

Food is included with each ticket, and drinks will be available for purchase. Formal attire is welcomed.
