Renée Green: Endless Dreams and Time-Based Streams fuses experience with research to create deeply moving works about the real and imagined histories of individual lives in our mobile contemporary world. Through acts of accretion, images and ideas unfold within cultural and geographic contexts to create a layered dialogue within and between works. The exhibition features two recent large-scale multilayered installation projects and selected earlier works, with a focus on time-based media as central transmitters for the intersection of narratives, processes, and creativities that engage embodiment, memory, and philosophical thought. The unfolding of time in various tempos plays a central role for Green’s fictive and documentary storytelling in film, video, sound, audible reading of texts, and “space poems” on hanging banners.
