Create art inspired by the artists of Bay Area Now 9 in this series of stand-alone, drop-in art workshops for participants of all ages. Materials will be provided, and participants will be able to take their artwork home as a souvenir. Each workshop will feature a different artist from the BAN9 exhibition and explore the artist’s practice and art-making methods.

On Wednesday, April 24, 2024, create small polymer clay forms inspired by netsuke, a Japanese tradition of making ornate miniature sculptures used as fasteners on cords originating in the 17th century. BAN9 artist Michael Arcega created a sculpture series of netsuke as part of his past installation Nacireman Inventions: Cultural Phonemes.
