Create art inspired by artists in this series of stand-alone, drop-in art workshops for participants of all ages. Materials will be provided, and participants will be able to take their artwork home as a souvenir. Each workshop will feature a different artist from YBCA exhibitions and explore the artist’s practice and art-making methods.
On Wednesday, May 1, 2024, find meaning and inspiration from your personal background or experiences to create your own pattern. Transform and embellish your design with mixed media materials, such as colorful beads on canvas panels or fabric scraps. Inspired by artist Charlene Tan’s work Research and Remembering, which weaves mylar strips into patterns guided by spirituality, local flora and fauna, and Filipino identity.
