Opening Night Party: Bay Area Then & MAKIBAKA

Join us on Friday, August 1 at 6:30pm for a vibrant night of art, music, and community at YBCA. We’re celebrating two new exhibitions—Bay Area Then and MAKIBAKA: A Living Legacy—with a free opening night party.

With sounds provided by DJ Shortkut, a performance from Barr, custom cocktails, and additional performers to be announced, this is an evening not to be missed. We’re also excited to host a pop-up shop from Tokyo-based contemporary art gallery Scooters for Peace, offering limited edition merch and designs by Bay Area artists.

Join us in celebration of the artists and communities that shape the Bay.
