This event features five women poets—Ladi Rev, Juni Speaks, D’dra White, Tina Odom and one of the co-curators of The Only Door I Can Open: Women Exposing Prison Through Art, Chantell-Jeannette Black.
Chantell-Jeannette and Tina will call in from Central California Women’s Prison at Chowchilla, sharing new works that reflect on constant surveillance, exposure, and pressures of prison life. The poets performing in person will respond to the exhibition and prison room installation with original pieces, forming solidarity across prison walls.
