Learn the basics of hip-hop dance in this class with Clyde Evans, Jr. This class teaches hip hop as a universal language that transcends barriers of age, ability, and background. Find your groove and express yourself through dance in this class for individuals of all skill levels.
Clyde Evans, Jr. has been dancing hip-hop since age 11. Performing dance has taken him all over the world to places such as Africa, Italy, London, Brazil, France, Finland, and Australia and allowed him to perform with stars like Will Smith, Jay Leno, Haley Berry, Mark Wahlberg, Robert Redford, Michelle Pfeiffer, Bruce Willis, and M. Night Shyamalan, as well as appearing in commercials for the Superbowl, dance contest on BET, So You Think You Can Dance, performances for the X-Games, and Sunny D as well as magazine and other print media.
The International Museum of Dance exists in a new era, where the role and responsibility of all museums are being questioned. IMOD has an opportunity to model a new purpose for museums in the 21st century. IMOD’s exhibitions are curated by artists and those in the field of dance. Communities and cultures that have been overlooked for generations are also given a platform to tell their stories.The International Museum of Dance honors our collective dance histories, celebrates dance’s current practices, and helps to support and shape the future of dance.
