Create art inspired by exhibitions at YBCA in this series of drop-in art workshops for participants of all ages. Each workshop will be inspired by a different artist and explore the artist’s practice and art-making methods. Materials will be provided, and participants will be able to take their artwork home as a souvenir.
Inspired by Malaya Tuyay’s mural What is Legacy Without Liberation? installed on YBCA’s Third Street Wavy Wall, create watercolor cards and dedicate them to someone you’d like to honor–an ancestor, or a loved one who passed. Reflect through imagery and symbolism, using color, lines, and shapes as a guide throughout your composition.
