Create art inspired by exhibitions at YBCA in this series of drop-in art workshops for participants of all ages. Each workshop will be inspired by a different artist and explore the artist’s practice and art-making methods. Materials will be provided, and participants will be able to take their artwork home as a souvenir.
Make a postcard painting inspired by artist Sarah Montoya’s work from the exhibition The Only Door I Can Open: Women Exposing Prison through Art. Curated from within prison, the show explores truths about women and incarceration. Participants are encouraged to see the exhibit and respond to the prompts presented by the artists and curators.
