Zachary Adams (b. 1987) is a San Francisco-based artist specializing in watercolor works on paper and animations. Known for his long-standing love letter series, Adams seamlessly blends illustration with prose to create dynamic pieces with an emphasis on storytelling. He has been a practicing artist at Creativity Explored since 2010.
A key feature of Adams’ work is his use of repetition with language and imagery. Slight changes in the scale or expression of his subjects create a visually enriching viewing experience, subverting the mundanity associated with repetition.
Adams is an internationally exhibited artist and has displayed work at the Musée de la Création Franche in Bègles, France, and in group exhibitions across the Bay Area, including in Claiming Our Space: Contemporary Art and IDD at the Petaluma Arts Center and Into the Brightness at the Oakland Museum of California. Adams was recently accepted into the 2026 Outside Forces exhibition at Art Enables in Washington, D.C.
