Kevin Lopez has been art-making and performing in the Bay Area for almost a decade. They are a California native, first generation American, with lineage from the Yucatán state of Mexico and Belize (with a dash of Chinese). The drag queen Mira was born in 2016 and is truly an exploration of, and love letter to, the Chicano culture that was ever present in their upbringing but pushed away in an effort to assimilate to the environment around them in suburban Southern California. Through their previous work with Detour, Mira found a home with the Clutch the Pearls family, and is honored to co-host the monthly drag cabaret alongside Churro Nomi.
