Julien Poirier is a poet living in Berkeley who teaches at San Quentin State Prison. Poirier has published numerous poetry books including El Golpe Chileño (Ugly Duckling, 2010), Stained Glass Windows of California (Ugly Duckling, 2012), Way Too West (Bootstrap, 2015) and Out of Print (City Lights). A founding member of the Brooklyn-based press Ugly Duckling, he is also editor of books on writings by Jack Micheline, Bill Berkson and Frank Lima (with Garrett Caples).
