Jared Mar is an artist, born and raised in San Francisco and Daly City, California. He earned a BA in Studio Arts and a BA in Art Administration from George Fox University as well as an MA in Museum Studies with a focus on Educational Outreach from the University of San Francisco. When making art, Jared uses his mixed heritage to inform his style in sculpture, textile art, and murals. Jared has taught ceramic classes, mural classes, and painting classes along with coaching baseball to kids of various ages. He aspires to use his experience to help evolve educational outreach programs. He especially hopes that his programs help children of color and of mixed race (like himself) to see that art is for everyone and doesn’t have to be so Eurocentric.
