Erika Chong Shuch Performance Project is a group of artists and galvanizers who create and present original performance work under the artistic direction of Erika Chong Shuch. Valuing vulnerability and humor, the company’s ruminations coalesce into imagistic assemblages of movement, music, text, and scenic design. Through metaphor and theatrical alchemy, the work is a mirror, a lens, an opportunity for reflection, a brainstorm, a meeting place, a prayer, a conversation, and a confession. For each new project, Shuch gathers deeply curious, skilled, and daring collaborators (dancers, actors, musicians, writers, filmmakers) to agitate and analyze a critically pressing topic from multiple perspectives.
