Deimantas Narkevičius, born in 1964 in Lithuania, was trained as a sculptor at the Art Academy in Vilnius, Lithuania. He represented Lithuania at the 49th Venice Biennale (2001) and was one of the artists in Utopia Station, curated by Hans Ulrich Obrist and Molly Nesbit, at the 50th Venice Biennale (2003). Narkevičius’s work has been shown at the Museum of Modern Art, New York (2012), the Seoul Museum of Art (2010), the Museum of Modern Art, Ljubljana, Slovenia (2009), the Stedelijk Museum, Amsterdam (2008), the Center of Contemporary Art, Thessaloniki, Greece (2008), Centre Pompidou, Paris (2006), Galerie für Zeitgenössische Kunst, Leipzig, Germany (2006), Contemporary Art Center, Vilnius (2004), and Tate Modern, London (2004).
