Camila Michaliszyn is a Brazilian interdisciplinary artist based in San Francisco, California. Her practice explores the relationship between humans, nature, and the material world. Through kinetic sculpture and installation, she investigates the shifting boundaries between physics and spirit, and between systems of classification that separate the human from the more-than-human. Her work emerges from lived experience, long walks, and the observation and collection of discarded and natural materials, which she transforms into new forms of life. She received her BFA in Visual Arts from Universidade Tuiuti do Paraná, Brazil, and her MFA from San Francisco State University. She is a recipient of the 2025 Murphy and Cadogan Award, the Leo D. Stillwell Award, and the Martin Wong Gallery Scholarship. In 2026, she was selected for Introductions at Root Division.
