Arin Rungjang questions and interprets the spatial condition of places in everyday life, exploring issues such as memory, migration, and familial histories. Considering his interest in the imaginary and symbolic meaning of objects, Rungjang works with household objects, incorporating them into the artistic process and establishing new meaning. His work spans different media, focusing mainly on video and site-specific installations. Rungjang’s work was exhibited in the Thai Pavilion at the 55th Venice Biennale (2013), West Den Haag, the Netherlands (2013), Ver Gallery, Bangkok (2011), Guangzhou Triennial (2008) and many other venues. He was a finalist for the 2014 APB Foundation Signature Art Prize at the Singapore Art Museum. This year, he will participate in Parasophia: Kyoto International Festival of Contemporary Art.
