Angelo Santos is the writer and director of Pamanhikan, which screened at Asian-American and LGBT film festivals in New York, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Miami, Portland, Honolulu, Boston, San Diego, and Seattle. He received awards for Best Screenplay Short at the 2013 Vail Film Festival, the Audience Award at the 2016 Ithaca Pan-Asian American Film Festival, the Programmers Award at the 2016 Disorient Asian-American Film Festival of Oregon, and Best LGBT Film at the 2016 Great Lakes International Shorts Festival. Santos produced the independent feature film musical The Girl Who Left Home, which won the Audience Award at the 2021 CAAMFest Forward and has screened at festivals in Los Angeles, Honolulu, Seattle and Washington, D.C. Santos works in TV production, most notably on the Emmy-nominated shows Project Runway and Top Chef. He volunteers with Cinema Sala, a non-profit film organization dedicated to showcasing and promoting Filipinx filmmakers of the past, present and future.
