Liang Shuo was born in 1976 in Jixian, Tianjin Province, China, and currently lives and works in Chengdu and Beijing. Liang finds cheap, everyday objects in the markets and combines them—according to their original forms, without any adhesive material—to create new, meaningful forms. He does not judge a work’s completion based on any predetermined outcome; rather, he searches for rational relationships that can be produced when objects meet one another. Liang proposes an aesthetic standard based on the value judgment “as long as it fits.” His fundamental attitude toward things is clearly manifested in his resistance to the empirical world and basic logic.
