Voted San Francisco Magazine’s Best Dance Experience, ODC/Dance returns to the stage with the 40th anniversary of the beloved Bay Area holiday tradition, The Velveteen Rabbit, choreographed by KT Nelson and featuring students from ODC’s Youth & Teen Program. Based on the beloved classic children’s book by Margery Williams, The Velveteen Rabbit brims with wit, festive costumes, madcap characters, and the perfect amount of holiday cheer! The performance features captivating narration, a delightful musical score by Benjamin Britten, and larger-than-life storybook characters portrayed by the world-class dancers of ODC/Dance.
Celebrate 40 years of The Velveteen Rabbit with special anniversary experiences, including free pre-show talks on Sundays at 1pm in the YBCA lobby with ODC artists and longtime members of the ODC community. For an extra-special celebration, select the VIB (Very Important Bunny) Package, which includes a limited-edition 40th anniversary commemorative gift bag filled with surprises inspired by four decades of The Velveteen Rabbit, plus a selfie with the cast after the show.
