Kevin Roach (b. 1957) is an illustrative artist and San Francisco native. Growing up in SF, Roach often talks about his time as a child in the circle of The Cockettes, one of the original troupes of radical drag performers. His memories of the innovative gender-bending performances and beautiful, glittery costumes are reflected in his sense of artistic design and composition. Roach cites Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera as major inspirations, saying their art “makes [him] come alive.”

Roach’s popular eyeball designs were reproduced in Of Here From There | De Aquí Desde Allá, in collaboration with Ana Teresa Fernández. He has participated in over thirty group exhibitions throughout his tenure at CE, including Out of Order and Black and White and Read All Over. Roach was most recently featured in the exhibition I Wish I Had A Window at & Beyond Gallery in 2025.
