Samedi Djeimguero (b. 1995, The Central African Republic) is a painter, sculptor, and animator known for his radiant, large-scale works. Describing his paintings as a window or door into another world, Djeimguero’s practice allows him to boldly express complex feelings that transcend language. In the studio, Djeimguero works quickly on a large scale, simultaneously juggling several trajectories leading to profound collisions of ideas and mediums, layered in a short period. Djeimguero explains– “I am not thinking.. I am doing like *snaps* that’s the way it [the painting] becomes”.
In his nine years at Creativity Explored, Djeimguero has exhibited in over twenty group exhibitions, including at the Oakland Museum of California and the Museum of Craft and Design. In 2023, he participated in the Recology Artist in Residency program and also had his first solo exhibition at Hot House Gallery titled Heaven: Because in Heaven, You Can See Everything.
