The team at YBCA stands in solidarity with Black communities across our country who have endured generations of pain, loss, and devastation as a direct result of systemic racism. George Floyd died an unnecessary and senseless death, as did Breonna Taylor, Ahmaud Arbery, Tony McDade and countless others. Their lives mattered. Black lives matter.
In this moment, and always, we believe that arts organizations like YBCA are public benefit organizations that are here to serve the urgent needs of our communities; of our times. At YBCA, it is our mission-driven mandate to ask: how can we use our collective power to change policy and change lives? How can we deploy the role of art and creativity in service of a better world?
We encourage you to take action through the shortlist of resources below and to share with others. We also hope that you are registered to vote, and you complete the 2020 Census. We need to ensure our communities are counted and we need leadership!
We invite you to connect with us through the Artist Power Center at (415) 704-6090 to discuss how you feel our resources can be of support at this critical time.
