Artistic Director Robert Moses founded Robert Moses’ Kin in 1995, and has since created numerous works of varying styles and genres for his highly praised and prolific dance company. Moses’ work speaks to our times: it is a powerful combination of athletic technique, rhythmic complexity, a fusion of different dance styles, and gestural detail. Moses uses movement as the medium through which race, class, culture and gender are used to voice the existence of our greater potential and unfulfilled possibilities.
Robert Moses’ Kin tours nationally and internationally and has earned a host of awards, including seven Isadora Duncan Awards (IZZIES). The company has collaborated with a number of prominent dancers, musicians, composers, sculptors, authors, poets, and designers to realize the concept of dance as a unifying form of art, an art-form which speaks broadly from a specific place.
